Syracuse QB Kyle McCord accepts invite to pre-NFL Draft All-Star game

Syracuse, N.Y. —Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord has accepted an invitation to play in one of the featured showcases for players hoping to be selected in the 2025 NFL Draft.
McCord will play in the 100th East-West Shrine Bowl on January 30 in Dallas. The game will be played at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys. The Shrine Bowl will be broadcast on the NFL Network.
The Shrine Bowl will be a prime chance for McCord to show off a skillset in front of NFL scouts, general managers and decision makers.
McCord’s NFL prospects are currently mixed among NFL Draft experts.
ESPN’s Mel Kiper does not currently have McCord listed as one of the Top 10 quarterback prospects in the 2025 draft.
Dane Brugler of The Athletic does not currently have McCord listed on his big board.
Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports writes that McCord has the talent and skill to be a first-round pick in the draft.
“McCord won’t ever be confused for the mobile, dual-threat quarterback arriving on the scene in the NFL more frequently than ever before,” Trapasso writes. “Yet that doesn’t mean he’s bound to be ineffective in the NFL. In fact, in this genuine breakout season for the Orange, McCord is routinely making pro-caliber throws, with above-average arm strength, and surgical accuracy … from inside the pocket.”
McCord has set records in his only season as Syracuse quarterback as a transfer from Ohio State.
McCord needs just two more touchdowns to tie the single-season touchdown passes record (26) at Syracuse and is less than 300 yards from breaking the single-season passing record (3,749). He has set the mark for most completions in the season at 304 (and counting).
He is currently second in the country in passing yards (3,476) and seventh in touchdown passes (24).
